INNER CONVERSATION

The images are from my personal project series entitled "Inner Conversation". It showcases a subtle narrative about the busy commuters. I play with reflections that extort people privacy and caught them in a moment when they are vulnerable. The effect of the reflections, the foreground, and the background blends harmoniously that indicate the idea that they are in their own bubble of isolation and survive as they reached their destinations.

I showcase this series in Passagen 2016 in Cologne, Germany at Alte Molkerei. I observed that one of the guests is staring at this exact image for a long time. I approached and I ask if there is any problem. She said no problem but this image intrigued her so she told me what she thought. She visualized that the subjects in the imagery may be connected in some ways. Maybe the colors of the clothes or the gestures but she felt something lonely about it. She called this piece "30 Years Married and 1 Day Divorced". Then I said, "That was a great interpretation and that is my intention for the audience. Can I use that as the title of this photo?", And she gladly affirmed.

SAN FRANCISO, CALIFORNIA
The Beginning

When I was staying in the beautiful city of San Francisco, I started capturing conceptual imageries of people but talking to strangers are always my weakness. So I shot random individuals on the trains and subway as I commute around the city. Using reflection while they are unaware of provides genuine expressions that you capture in a split second. I thought it is interesting to capture people sincere gestures and body languages. As I progress on this personal project, I tried to create an indirect narrative to the viewers by playing with composition, perspective, and using different layers (background and foreground) elements. In this way, my audience can create stories on their own to connect on the photographs.

INNER CONVERSATION AIRPORT
(work in progress)

I love to travel and I am very fortunate to travel internationally. As an evolution of this series, I continued shooting on one of the busiest hubs, the airports using the same principles. I titled the images with the airport codes and the country.
